Dear Tomasz,
Thanks for your e-mail. Your ideas sound very interesting to me. I
really like the idea of having a working group in the direction of
biomechanics. Especially since more and more activity can be
observed in this direction.
The field you sketch is indeed broad, though I would like to
suggest to skip "mechanics". From the viewpoint of optimization we
may also be interested in problems that do not involve mechanics
at all. You may think of naming it "Working group on
Bio-optimization". I realize that this broadens the field even
further, but at least the name would better reflect the field of
interest.
One of the tasks of the working group could also be to
bundle/highlight "bio-optimization" through the organization of
mini-symposia at conferences or even symposia/conferences that are
entirely focused on "bio-optimization".
I'm not sure whether I have to interpret your e-mail as an inquiry
whether I'm interested to participate in such a working group. If
this is the case, my answer would be confirmative.
With best regards,
Fred van Keulen
