Dear Tomasz,
It goes almost without saying that I, and indeed the whole AnyBody group, is
interested in such an initiative. As you say, there is much optimization
going on in the biomechanical field already, but there are no link or very
weak links to the optimization community.
I find that the optimization work published within biomechanics has its main
focus on the biological issues and tends not to relate so much to the used
optimization algorithms, existence and uniqueness of solutions, and many
other topics that "optimists" tend to emphasize. Thus, I see good
opportunity for such a group to contribute positively to the advancement of
the biomehcnaical field.
My group and I are mainly interested in multibody biomechanics, and I would
like to propose that this field becomes a part of the activities.
Best regards,
John
