In response to Tomasz' request for info about the different research
groups, here's a small introduction to the AnyBody project hosted at the
Institute of Mechanical Engineering at Aalborg University, Denmark:

AnyBody is a research project focusing on modeling of the musculo-skeletal
system by means of multibody mechanics. Much of the work in the project is
concerned with the development of a general body modeling software system.
The system relies heavily on optimization techniques, which are used not
only to solve ergonomic design optimization problems, but also as an
integrated part of the analysis. You could say that the system's most
fundamental assumption is that the body's design and function have been
optimized through genetic development, and the mechanical redundancies of
the body can therefore be resolved mathematically by optimality criteria.
